Jennifer Connelly Biography

Born in Catskill Mountains on December 12, 1970 from a working father and a commercial mother, Jennifer Connelly spent her childhood between Brooklyn and Woodstock. With the ten years age, a friend of the family, advertising agent, proposes her to take part in a casting to become a model. Her natural beauty lets her obtain several advertising contracts for televised spots and magazines. She leaves the modelling to carry out her dream, to become an actress. She gets her first role in the cinema, at the fourteen years age, in Sergio Leone's 'Once Upon a Time in America' in which she plays a dancer. One year later, she's the star in Phenomena by Dario Argento. She plays in some films with small budget, then is made known to a wider audience in 1986 thanks to the film 'Labyrinth' by Jim Henson, with David Bowie. Four years later, she appears in ' The Hot Spot'. At the time she decides to resume her studies of dramatic art at the university, but gives up her courses two years later to be devoted to the cinema. She plays in some movies which do not bring great successes: 'The Rocketeer', 'Mulholland Falls'. She appears in ' Requiem for a Dream' in which she plays a drug addict. Her role in 'A Beautiful Mind' gets her a Golden Globe and the Oscar of the best supporting female role. In 2003, Jennifer Connelly, little recognized actress, is Betty Ross in ' Hulk', then Dahlia Williams in ' Dark Water'. She comes back at the beginning of 2007, with ' Little Children' then ' Blood Diamond', confirming her eclectic talent once again.
